Contact

We need to put in place a formal contract so we all know where we stand. In order not to waste anyone's time you need to read this and if you are interested but have any issues with the contract then you must mention this in your first contact email.

Contract for the Supply of DIY Livery at Yogi’s:

Our policy is for our horses to be happy and healthy; the people to be friendly and conscientious; and the property and facilities to be well looked after. To achieve this we need your agreement to all of the following terms and conditions:

This contract is personal to you and is not transferable

Livery is to be paid per calendar month in advance, to be paid by the 27th of the preceding month by standing order. A deposit equal to one month’s livery is also required at the start of the contract/agreement. Either party may terminate the contract/agreement at any time by giving the other party one month’s notice in writing.

The facilities at Yogi’s include 2 stables, tack room/feed store and 2 adjacent fields (7 acres approx) with hayshed/field shelter. Each field has a water trough with mains water. There is also mains water and electricity at the stables.

We can supply a further padlocked storeroom.

The main residence has a landline phone and toilet, which you can use in case of emergency.

Health and Safety is of great importance to us and you should always follow good practice. For instance riding hats to the current BHS standard must be worn at all times.

You will be given keys allowing you access 24 hours per day 365 days per year. However the premises are in a quiet but populated neighbourhood and very close to some residential properties. So normally please visit only between 8am and 9pm. At all times give due consideration and respect to our neighbours.

We have a worming
programme and all new horses must be wormed on arrival. They will then join the programme and be wormed at the same time as the rest of the horses.

We request that your horse’s flu and tetanus vaccinations are kept up to date at all times unless the horse has a medical reason to be exempt.

You will be entirely responsible for all your own horse’s care.

In addition you will be responsible for Yogi’s daily care. In general all that is required is for you to fetch Yogi in, feed him, talk to him and check he’s ok every day. (He will also need a bit of a groom once in a while). If anything is amiss then you should let us know straight away.

It is anticipated that we collaborate on vet and farrier visits wherever possible. Callout fees will then be shared pro rata between all concerned.

All liveries agree that in the event of an emergency, if they cannot be contacted that they give our representative permission to call a veterinary surgeon on their behalf, who may need to administer treatment or even euthanasia.

You will be expected to walk the perimeter fence once a week and report to us any damaged or dangerous fencing as well as any other potential risks/hazards.  You must properly remove all ragwort (and dispose in dustbin). You should check that the water supply in both fields is satisfactory.  Also the occasional poo clearance will be required to reduce worms and ensure good pasture management.

Except in an emergency please ask before carrying out any repairs and/or alterations (e.g. to fittings in stables).

Dogs (on a lead) and children are welcome if kept under your supervision.

You must keep the premises clean and tidy at all times. Small amounts of rubbish can be left onsite in the dustbin provided. Always ensure you put away all equipment after use and that you turn the lights and taps off before leaving.

Although we take the utmost care to ensure your horses' safety, accidents do some times happen. For example horses do occasionally kick out. We will not accept any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness whatsoever (except in cases where exclusion is not permitted under UK law).

All horses are required to have 3rd party and public liability insurance.

We may need to charge you for any damage caused by yourself, your horse, your property or your visitors. Normal wear and tear will not be charged.

NB Damage to the ground for instance by riding in the fields at wet/muddy times is not ‘normal wear and tear’ and is not permitted.

Please note that at all times all of your property is left at your own risk and you should ensure you keep it secured at all times.

Please also help us to maintain a safe environment by reporting any suspicious persons/behaviour.

For the avoidance of doubt if there is any evidence of any illegal activity (including the mistreatment of animals and/or missing property) we will report it to the relevant authorities and your contract may be terminated with immediate effect. Your deposit will not be returned in these circumstances.

Any breach of any of these terms and conditions may result in the termination of this contract.

We hope that you and your horse/s will have a long and happy stay with Yogi and would like to take this opportunity to welcome you.
